Pills

What do we do when it's all too much? Overwhelm swallowed down, shaken loose, and finally allowed to flow.

A vulnerable, sideshow-tinged act about mental health, overwhelm, and dis/connection — sweet, beautiful, and relatable. It moves through three phases: overwhelm, where a frazzled 80s businesswoman runs the stage in a panic, collapses, and swallows a handful of (placebo) pills; mindfulness and coping, rendered as ‘demonic stripper clown / carnival yoga’; and finally openness and flow, quick-release layers falling away into UV-reactive silk flags and a real, complicated-world version of the beatitudes. Autistic, queer, trans, and still sexy af.

Starts
Overwhelm: a frazzled 80s businesswoman runs the stage in a panic, collapses, and swallows placebo pills against a marked glass of water, lights extra-bright and overwhelming.
Turns
Mindfulness and coping: ‘demonic stripper clown / carnival yoga’ as she tries to manage the too-much, lights wavering then settling into blue.
Lands
Openness and flow: quick-release layers fall away and UV-reactive silk flags open into a real, complicated-world version of the beatitudes, then cover the pills and glass for a final pose front centre stage.
