I Love Onions
- Food(nerd)lesque
- Campy with a side of cheesecake
- Too much love of alliums
- Requires chopping
- Messy
A chef with an unnatural love of alliums, chopping her way down to the layers underneath.
A comedic food(nerd)lesque act about a chef with an unnatural love of alliums. It opens with a straight-faced explanation of onions before the chopping begins, then peels away layer by layer — chef whites over brown over white, like an onion itself — into messy, bluesy, campy play on a tarp. She strips further, wanders into the audience, feeds onions to a lucky (willing) volunteer, and lands back on stage with a Shrek quote and one last musical sting. Silly, weird, sensory, and very queer.
- Starts
- A chef behind a small table, straight-faced, explaining onions before showing one and beginning to chop.
- Turns
- The chef coat comes off and the play gets messy — onions on a tarp, costume layers peeling away like the vegetable itself, then out into the audience.
- Lands
- Feeds onions to a lucky audience member and returns to the stage for a Shrek quote and a final musical break.
